Hi boys and girls over the Internet!
In case you don't know me, my name is Mathieu, I'm 24 years old and I live in Liège, Walloonia. I graduated in Linguistics in 2013 and I consider myself as bilingual in French and English (although it is not my mother tongue).
I decided to make this blog because I lived one year in Leuven, Flanders, for my studies and I really appreciated the experience, despite all comments I read from Belgians or foreign people saying that Belgium is a "non-country" and that all Belgian communities hate on each other. I have friends from all three communities and I realized that our culture had similarities, which explains why we're united. This is what I wanted to show in my blog. In general, I'm really proud (not "obsessed" though, as it may appear to be in this blog) by Belgian culture, which is all about humour and compromise.
I have to mention that my articles are by no mean political and I don't want to offend people in publishing them, because I always try to show good and bad sides of each communities. The basic idea was to tell you about all stereotypes that people have on Belgians, but I don't really share them. I just thought the idea would be funny.
My main hobbies are learning languages (including Dutch, German, Italian and even Walloon!), listening to a LOT of different music styles (I am a music freak, really), travelling, drawing, painting, and lots of other stuff.
If you like what I do, don't hesitate to leave a comment on my articles and to send the link of my blog to everyone you love (or at least, those who could be interested in my lovely country).
